Description
Loose Leaf Tea in Tin. Grown in irradiant sunshine, the fragrance and the natural music of rustling leaves, singing birds and mooing cows this is a Certified Organic tea from the world's best Tea Estate the 'Makaibari' in Kurseong, the Land of the White Orchid, in Darjeeling. It is impossible to describe 'Makaibari' within the confines of this limited space so we invite you to visit 'Makaibari' and check out what its owner Rajah Banerjee the 'Tea Guru' dreamt about and made possible within a single life time. Makaibari is also the first Demeter certified biodynamic tea estate in the Himalayas. The prize-winning and record-breaking tea is harvested in spring using only the buds. Hand-rolled and carefully picked, this tea is a rarity. Pale green, almost white leaves-hence its name - Silver Tips. Makaibari Silver Tips was awarded the world record price of US $400 per Kg in 1996 by the American Tea Masters Association, regarded as the most choosy, finicky club of tea lovers. Silver Tips is currently the costliest tea in the world.
