What is Tea Stick
One of the more modern forms of tea consumption, an alternative to the tea bag, is tea stick. Tea Sticks are perforated metal or extruded film tubes that contain tea leaves (often of a superior quality). Unlike a tea bag that compresses under its own weight when steeped in water, a tea stick allows the tea leaves enough space to uncurl and impart its full flavor to the water they steep in.  Placed in a cup, hot water is directly poured over the tea stick and allowed to steep for a few minutes. The stick also acts as a strainer and a stirrer.

There are two kinds of tea sticks: Disposable and Reusable. At Petit Tea we offer both types.

disposing the used tea is a breeze.

All our tea sticks are square tubes made from food grade aluminum foil (similar to the aluminum foil that is used for wrapping
chocolates and food items commercially and at home). Each stick contains 484 perforations (121 perforations on each side).
Once filled with tea leaves, the stick is labeled and sealed in a transparent protective film. 12 such sticks are packed in a clear,
soft plastic box and sealed. 

How is a tea stick different from a paper tea bag.

There are many differences and advantages of using a tea stick over a paper tea bag.
� Since tea sticks are not made of paper they do not contain chemicals that are used for manufacturing paper for paper tea bags
� When steeped in water paper tea bags �collapse� under the weight of water they absorb. This does not allow loose leaf teas to uncurl
and pass on their best flavor to the water to make a good brew. On the other hand, being rigid our tea sticks allow maximum room for
tea leaves to uncurl and pass on their flavor and taste to the brew.
� Tea sticks are designed to keep the tannic acids within the tea stick for a much longer time than the tea bags. This allows you to brew
a stronger cup of tea without making your tea bitter.
� Tea sticks double as a stirrer
� Tea sticks do not drip like tea bags and are easier to dispose
� Tea sticks are elegant and convenient enough to fit in well with your modern lifestyle.

How to use your tea sticks

� Open the box by cutting out the protective side seals. Pull out one stick per cup. Remove the outer wrapper and place the tea stick in a cup.
� To enjoy full flavor of our fine teas, bring fresh water to a rolling boil and  pour it directly over the Tea stick. Allow to steep for about two to three minutes (longer if you enjoy a stronger cup), give the water a swirl or two with the Tea stick.
� If you enjoy a little sugar, honey or a slice of fresh lemon just add and your tea is all ready to sip.

It is as easy and convenient as that.
