Black Teas
Black teas pair well with foods that are normally paired with red wines like meat, curries, and desserts. Black teas are rich and full bodied teas with pronounced tannins which hold up well with richly flavored foods. Black teas pair especially well with chocolates and desserts with chocolate. Grown primarily in India, China and Sri Lanka, black teas are subject to the highest degree of oxidization, which is what accounts for their dark color. An average cup of black tea contains about 45 mg caffeine as compared to 60-135 mg in coffee and 35-45 mg in cola.
